Whether we’re talking classic rock albums or business textbooks, re-issues should always be treated with caution. But in this case, the revised version of the 2001 first edition has certainly stood the test of time. Back then we said that Zadek should be commended for his acute and timely analysis. This remains the case. Certainly relevant to today’s fresh set of challenges. And with a new introductory essay, the winner of the 2006 Academy of Management’s Social Issue Management Book Award continues to be essential reading. One for both old timers, wishing to revisit the basics from a new perspective, or beginners looking for inspiration. Like a favourite rock album – it hasn’t lost its appeal.
