A&B Scotland winners

Arts & Business Scotland has announced the winners of its 20th Anniversary Awards. The awards honour organisations that demonstrate the best arts and business partnerships. The winners include Total E&P UK and Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Clydesdale Bank and Dundee City Council, Lifescan Scotland and Eden Court, and Hamilton & Iches and Scottish Ballet.

Rodin exhibition

Ernst & Young has brought Rodin to the Royal Academy of the Arts. The exhibition will run until January 1 2007 and includes pieces that have never been seen outside of France. It is the second such partnership that Ernst & Young has had with the Royal Academy and it is the 12th major exhibition that the company has supported.

Art of nurture

Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance has launched Art of Nurture, a competition where students will create a piece for Lloyds to use in an advertising and marketing campaign.

The competition is in partnership with Arts & Business and is open to any art student in the first or second year of university.

The winner will receive an 8-week paid placement at a top advertising agency valued at £3,000. An additional £3,000 will go to the student’s college or university. The competition deadline is 15 January 2007.

Cultural vitality

Birmingham is the UK’s most culturally vibrant city, according to the Cultural Vitality Index, due to investment by businesses in the community’s cultural organisations. Businesses mostly invest in culture to increase brand awareness and engage with their target demographic.
