Staff fundraising
Staff at Argos Retail Group-owned Homebase have chosen Marie Curie Cancer Care as the company’s first charity partner. The two-year partnership, launching in September, will raise funds through staff activities and cause-related marketing opportunities.

Meanwhile Lloyds TSB announced on March 13 that it has raised almost £1.7m for Marie Curie Cancer Care, over the course of a one-year partnership with the charity.

Wm Morrison announced on March 6 that has raised a total of £1m for the Breast Cancer Campaign, its charity partner for 2005.
Tesco has raised £2m for Age Concern, the company’s charity of the year partner for 2005. Rise to the challenge
Business executives from over 67 leading UK companies gathered on March 17 at Microsoft UK’s Reading headquarters to launch the sixth annual Microsoft UK Challenge, a team building exercise which is expected to raise £500,000 for the NSPCC. 125 corporate teams will participate in the event from June 7-11. Alcoa’s eco-warriors
Fifteen Alcoa employees are to take part in field research studies around the world with scientists from environmental charity, Earthwatch Institute. The company will provide grants to the charity to support projects where their employees are volunteering. Participating employees will use their annual leave to take part in the programme. Spring spruce-ups
Twenty Legal & General employees from the Cardiff and Kingswood offices teamed up to redesign and decorate a local YMCA. The volunteers raised £400, which the company matched, to cover the cost of designing and decorating the community facility.
